I've been lax in responding to my f-list LJ posts lately. I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and Happy New Year (but I'm sure I'll post again before this year is out... *eyes Secret Santa story). Thank you to everyone who's posted pictures or stories or nice comments this year and added a little more happiness to my life (especially Shep H/C happiness, the best kind of all).

The tree in my room. Notice the Dalek (not decorated, but at least he's there), next to a glass penguin (in front of Dalek) and if you squint, the cute glass pig. At right, you can barely make out the new Godzilla Xmas tree ornament.

Ahem... A friend emailed me this and I can't help but share. I'm sure Mac users will be rolling on the floor laughing ;)
If Microsoft ran Christmas ...
Each time you bought a Microsoft ornament, you would have to buy a tree as well. You wouldn't have to take the tree, but you still have to pay for it anyway. Ornament/7 would weigh 1500 pounds (requiring a reinforced steel tree), draw enough electricity to power a small city, take up 95% of the space in your living room, and would claim to be the first ornament that uses the colors red and green together. It would interrogate your other decorations to find out who made them. Most everyone would hate Microsoft ornaments, but nonetheless would buy them, since most of the other ornament types wouldn't work with their hooks!

I knew going in it was either going to be completely shite or completely wonderful ( the verdict )
And in case I don't get round to doing it tomorrow. A Happy Healthy and Peaceful Christmas to one and all.

I was inspired and made two LJ headers, free to snurch (with credit, please!). One with Joe Flanigam and one with Shep from The Storm/The Eye.

Have a Meow Christmas!! :)

Will be my downfall.
I am home for Christmas now, and you'd think I'd have all this time to devote to writing. But no, my brother decides to get this computer game - Civilization IV. We have a bad history with this game: one year, he got Civilization III for Christmas, and we played it nonstop for four days (literally nonstop with just the occasional break for food or bathroom).
Now he shows up with Civilization IV, we both load it up on our laptops, and we figure out how to connect our computers so we can play each other (we also figured out how to connect online so we can continue to play each other throughout next semester despite living long distances from each other, which does not bode well for either of us, academically speaking). Luckily he's off to the gym for a few hours (right before I was to launch my big attack against the nearby barbarian city!), so I am trying to make a little progress on my Secret Santa story.
Oh, and I saw Christmas Carol at the theaters this past weekend, got struck with a creepy, Halloweenish SGA story within the first five minutes, and could think of nothing else but that throughout the entire movie. Add another story idea to the list...

Well, looks like this tree is gonna be toast. A rather large pileated woodpecker has made short work of it in just a week or two. I don't remember seeing all those HOLES in the tree before! But the tree has lived very long - all tree folk who have seen are surprised it hasn't broken in half yet - probably this year. but the bird is gorgeous, and I'd rather have him peck that tree apart than go after the house!
These videos were shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC=FZ7 digital camera, with a 12x zoom lens, and obviously, no image stabilization! ;)
I should have done this before, but it slipped through me. The amazing
sheppard4lily made me three GIANT walls for my brother's HUGE screen. They are 1600x1050 and FANTASTIC! Go over there and give her praise, saying how awesome she is with the real size whumped Shep walls.
ETA: Her LJ is friends only, so only the ones in her flist can see the walls. I asked her if I can repost, but I'm waiting for an aswer.

I've got a Supernatural/House crossover fic rec. I normally run away when I see the word crossover plastered on a fic, especially over two fandoms that have nothing in common, but this one is really so well done and thought out. All the characters are spot on and the plot is fantastic! Really, everyone should read this. It's not very long and is devided in three parts. How to Survive.
Also, I feel absolutely HORRIBLE! Everything hurts. *cries* I only have two more days of work. I need to survive just until tomorrow. *needs House*
